Our Leadership Team

  Angela Burgess, Director of Operations

  Ms. Burgess, RN, brings extensive leadership and management skills gained from more than 45 years experience in the healthcare field. Her background includes positions in acute in-patient hospital care, ambulatory practice, private practice, and community health center operations.

• 
  Anita L. Crawford, CEO

  Ms. Crawford is an experienced leader with more than 30 years in the health and human services industry. Prior to arriving at RoxComp in 1997, she held a senior management position at Harvard Community Health Plan (HVMA) and was responsible for the operations, financial planning, and long- and short-term strategies for the organization's $40 million medical specialty group practice.

  Ms. Crawford was recognized by Mayor Thomas M. Menino for her participation on the Mayor’s Task Force to Eliminate Health Care Disparities. She is a recipient of the Greater Boston YMCA's Black Achievers Award, and Harvard Community Health Plan’s Diamond Award. She currently serves as the vice chair of the Board of Trustees for Roxbury Community College.

  Tanya Duncan, Director of Human Resources

  Ms. Duncan is a seasoned human resources professional with over 15 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector. She received her master’s degree in human resources management from Suffolk University and holds a certification in employee relations.

  James McGowan, CFO and VP of Administration

  Mr. McGowan has over 15 years of experience as a senior manager in ambulatory care settings. He holds a BS in Accounting and a MBA from Bentley University. He became a Certified Public Accountant while working for a boutique public accounting firm that specialized in health care reimbursement and audits.

  Michael Ndungu, MIS Director

  Mr. Ndungu joined RoxComp in May 2007. He is experienced in coordinating and maintaining information technology, managing telecommunications and electronic health records.

  Samuel Rivers, Medical Director (interim)

  Dr. Samuel Rivers is a highly qualified and experienced internist. He began practicing in RoxComp's Adult Medicine department in 1995. He holds a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Rivers has been the health center's interim Medical Director since August 2007. He enjoys skiing, photography and rail road modeling when not practicing medicine.
